SPR Reagent

Small Particle Reagent (SPR) is a well-known and utilized technique to develop latent prints on difficult surfaces such as wet surfaces (cold drink cans or automobiles with dew), oily surfaces, or textured surfaces. To use, mix the contents of an SPR vial, either white or black, into 6 ounces of water. Mix these vigorously in the mixing bottle and pour into a spray bottle. While keeping the mix well shaken, spray the surface with a gentle misting spray. The SPR will stick to the prints.

Gently mist the area with our SPR Rinse Solution or clean water from another spray bottle to wash away the excess SPR. The prints can now be easily photographed. Prints can usually be lifted in a conventional manner after letting the surface air-dry. The SPR vials contain a detergent/dispersant concentrate. Ready-to-use premixed liquid SPR solutions are also available.
